Hey there people!!!
In the news recently is former basketball star Tim Hardaway putting his foot so far in his mouth that it came out of his ass. On a radio interview Tim responded to another former NBA player who came "out of the closet" and confessed that he was gay. Tim said live on the radio that he can't stand gays, and went on and on about how he hates gay people. He said he is a homophobe. It was really quite astounding that a person like Tim Hardaway who has been around the media could be so blatantly ignorant in a public forum.
The question is: "Can he say that?"
Rewinding a little bit...the former NBA player who "came out" was heralded as being a hero. People were saying 'isn't it so sad that he couldn't come out when he was in the NBA'. Well...I think that the way homosexuality is being thrusted upon us is ridiculous. Hell...I'm offended. What about the straight guys on the team. I don't think there's many men who wouldn't be extremely uncomfortable walking naked into a shower knowing there's a man in the room who might be sexually attracted to them.
I wonder how women would feel being in a team shower with a man looking at them, maybe even being sexually aroused. I think a lot of these gay advocates are full of crap. When it comes to team sports, any kind of group sleeping or bathing accommodations, I think that gays should keep their sexuality to themselves. Even though it is increasingly being threatened, straight people have rights too.
With that said, do I think that men have the right to have intercourse with other men?... of course they do. Do I think that gays should be denied jobs? Absolutely not! Should gays be denied housing? Again absolutely not! Do I think homosexuality is wrong? No I do not. However...I think a man mounting another man is gross. I think it is my right to think it's gross. I think gays shouldn't be allowed to marry. That would be a terrible blow to the fabric of our society. I think that homsexuality is unatural...again that is my right.
If gays want straights to respect their rights, then gays have to respect the rights of straights. Now regarding Tim Hardaway and his comments...I think he is a sad man. He is an embarrassment to the NBA and to straight people everywhere. Should he be allowed to say what he did? In a free society I think he should...But I also think we should be able to call him a horse's ass.
That's my opinion...What's yours?
