Well...that's all gone to hell. It seems as though stores will give clerk positions to anybody who will take the job. I can't tell you how many times I've walked up to a clerk or cashier who wouldn't even look up at me. Often times they won't even say "That will be $9.76 please". They just stand there apparently unable to manage any words at all...they wait for me to look at the screen and give them the money.
Sometimes when I'm on my toes I'll stand there and look away...determined to make them say something to me even if it's just to tell me how much my damn 'Combo Number Two' is...(That'll learn em') Another pet peeve (some of you know I have a lot of them) is when they have to enter the amount you gave them so the register can tell them how much change to give back. So, not only can these kids not speak, they can't count...And another thing...if I hand you the money, HAND ME MY CHANGE...don't put it on the counter!
I have a thought...if you have no social skills or basic math aptitude, if you don't have the basic decency to look at a customer and give them a proper greeting, if the thought never even occurs to you to tell me how much my coffee costs...WORKING WITH THE PUBLIC IS NOT FOR YOU!!! Have a nice day. Oh...I hear Porta-Potty is hiring.

Things have changed drastically. Kids are having kids…..and they are not concentrating on how to raise them well, where they can have social skills or basic math aptitude……. …instead these parents ( which are still kids ) are concentrating on how to make some money to bye the marijuana or other drugs which are more important to them at the moment.
