For those who don't know, this former U.S. Congresswoman and Vice Presidential candidate said that the only reason that Barack Obama has been so successful is because he is black. She continued 'if he was white or a woman he wouldn't be where he is. He's lucky he is who he is'. When she was asked again to clarify her point, she dug the hole deeper and said she was complimenting him, and that it was she who was being wronged by being called racist.
I'm not ready to call Ms. Ferraro a racist, but I think she is fully qualified to be a hot flaming idiot. News Flash to Ms. Ferraro -unless you're a basketball player or gangsta rapper being black in America is ALWAYS a challenge at best. Despite the wonderful advances made regarding the civil rights of African Americans racism still abounds in The Land of the Free and Home of the Brave.
I think the intent of Ms. Ferraro was more insidious than outright racism. I think she wanted to plant fear in the feeble minds of a few stupid people who just happen to be white, that a black man is about to get the ultimate affirmative action job...the presidency of the United States...so you better vote for Hillary Clinton.
Hear is your reality check Ms. Geraldine Ferraro...Barack Obama is not where he is because he is black, but in spite of his being black. I have a suggestion for you Ms. Ferraro...the next time you're feeling idiotic keep your rotten words to yourself. Decent people don't want to hear that garbage. What an embarrassment you are to the Democratic Party and to good people everywhere. Shame on you.
Maybe you and Pat Buchanan can go and sew some white sheets together and reminisce about the good old days.
Stay Fly and Fly High!

Hey KLH, why doesn't anyone ever mention Barack's other ethnicities? I believe everyone is missing the point! It is not weather or not he his black or white, because obviously he is not JUST black, or just an "African American", which ever you politically correct people want to call it. HE IS A UNITED STATES OF AMERICAN CITIZEN AND A HUMAN BEING! Everyone playing the race card here, in regards to this subject is a moron, (especially Geraldine Ferraro). Mr. Obama is, where he is, because he had a parental foundation that allowed him to grow and become successful. He is good looking, intelligent, has a nice looking family, and an eloquent speaker, with the ability to get a point across. (What point, I don’t know…) He fits with the American public. A shallow group of people, that purchase thing on looks, not principles and ideas. Look at how the advertising community markets items to the public. They don’t tout quality, they tell you how good your going to feel; How good you going to look; How easy it is going to make your life. People look deeper! Great; free health care for all! But is it free? Who is really going to pay? The people who actually work for a living! Lets get our troops out of Iraq! But does anyone remember why we are really there? Yes, one answer is oil! But there is a more important reason. Saddam and other terrorists. (can’t go into all the details now, but you can read the history books…) He, Saddam, was a manipulative bastard, that invaded other countries, Kicked the United Nations Weapons Inspectors out of his country, leading EVERY country in the world to believe he was hiding something. He thought nothing of using weapons of mass destruction on his own people. Could you even imagine of one of our presidents dropping a gas bomb on Utah; because he doesn’t like Mormons? But back to oil… It is not to make Bush’s friends and Chaney rich, although I’m sure they are getting richer with these gas prices. It’s so you, the ignorant American Public, can go to Wal-Mart and buy cheap items, made in China, by people who make 25 cents a day. So you can go out and buy almost anything you want, with little or no struggle. If you want to learn about what make the world go round, do some reading! You complain that you don’t get get get… Well, you don’t have the RIGHT to get! You have the right to work and improve your own standard of living. Listen carefully to your friends and relatives. Who among them are successful? Do they work hard? Do the successful ones complain about how the government doesn’t give them all that they need? Do the lazy ones talk about what “people” or “our government” owe them. And owe them for what? The only case I can see that we, the American people, owe any other citizen; is that we owe our way of life; to all the brave men and women in our armed forces, that fight for our freedom and to all the brave Americans that would give up their lives to save someone else. To all the people who gave up the hi-power jobs, to become the teachers of our young. These people, we owe.
Well, I’ve gone off on a tangent, and I apologize. The bottom line here is that you can not be a successful politician, weather or not you are a Republican or Democrat, with out deception. It is statistically impossible to do in our political system. There is no way a person, of any color, can be elected to higher office, with out making promises he, or God forbid, she, (not just any woman, Just H.C…. Condoleezza Rice, now that is a black woman that I would vote for in a minute! Ah, another discussion on another day) CAN’T keep. Impossible! Again, read the stats. Look back at other Presidential campaigns and see how many Presidents kept their campaign promises. And believe it or not, this time around, there will be no exception. Barack is just as crooked as McCain and Hilary. The deal here is to decide who is the lesser of two evils. (Look at the late great Elliot Spitzer, That’s a moral compass to go by) This election year is a bust. There is no candidate that is perfect, not even close. You need to look deep into their platform and get by the looks and the ad campaigns. See if the guy/gal you want to vote for, holds the majority of your values, not the values of some campaign manager, shoving them down your throat.
Voting for Barack Obama is not going to make a big difference. He's as crooked as the rest, and allot of his ideas are way off the mark. They sound good, but have no substance. Can't say much for the others either, but I'm trying to keep to the subject at hand.
You want to make a difference in this country? Then make sure your kids grow up with good values and good morals. Do what ever you can to make you children grow and prosper as good human beings. Do what ever you can to make sure you earn what you get and do not expect anything for free, because we all know, NOTHING IS FOR FREE.
Well, that’s all for now. The only people I should be pissing off right now, are the ones that are lazy and ignorant. Remember, one of the greatest things we have in the United States is the ability to have your own opinion. (try that in Iraq before Saddam) Don't let anyone take that from you, and don't let anyone lead you down the wrong path. Do the research, and then make informed decisions.
Can’t wait to come back to this little slice of the web. Thanks for listening.
Hey Anon...Thanks for your comments. The thing about Mr. Obama that attracts me most is his his vision. From what I can see he wants to bring people together. Perhaps his multi-ethnicity makes unity even more appealing. I know he doesn't have tons of experience and I think that's one of his greatest strengths. Experience can make a person think too conventionally. Bush and Cheney had experience...(enough said).
As for Saddam Husein, it's clear he was a bad man. However when he was alive and in power I was every bit as free as I am now. I appreciate the sacrifices that men and women of the armed services, but I am not gullible. My freedom is not in jeopardy. The lie the war mongers want us to believe is that we are in danger. Again I'm not gullible nor am I naive I know there are dangers in the world, but Saddam Hussein was not a threat to me or anyone else I know.
The war on terror? Hmmm...think about the irony of that. Surely there's a better way. KLH
